A large client had expanded into new warehouse space and needed to find the most cost and time efficient way of protecting their workforce from the known asbestos hazard.
This solution provided a layer of safety to the workers within the warehouse, taking into account their planned operations. It also provided an improved aesthetic finish in their new space
The solution allowed for the safe handover of the property to the client to allow the property to be reinstated leaving the tenants to continue their standard operations
Scope of Works
One Group Solutions were engaged by our client in multiple stages. Firstly, we were consulted to establish a scope for the best option available to the client, in terms of cost and timescale. The timescale was extremely important for the client as they were in the final stages of becoming operational in their new facility. Secondly, we were engaged in carrying out the works. These included a fine clean of all areas of concern; Over boarding of all low-level ACM’s, the height was established by examining the planned operations of the space, and encapsulation of all high-level areas followed by placement of sufficient warning. Thirdly, we were tasked with creating an asbestos management plan for our client so they could better understand the best course of action going into the future. The final stage of the works is aftercare. This includes maintenance of the solution and emergency response in an accidental incident scenario
Due to the late stage of our clients move we had to closely control site logistics. There were multiple contractors on site carrying out different works including electricians and racking erectors. We had to ensure that our works did not clash with those working around us. To this end we had constant management to make sure that we achieved the outcome that our client desired.
